***FRO PICKER*** To Snitch Or Not To Snitch?
SNITCHIN'! In layman's terms, telling. A popular term that has been incorporated in hip hop music as the thing not to do. A SNITCH has become the last thing anyone in the hood wants to be because of this. And that's understandable from anywhere. I mean, who wants to be coined as a tattle-tell? Right? So in efforts to be true to the "GAME" a lot of our young people and even old are doing everything possible not become SNITCHES. But is this a good thing?
If someone stole your car, wouldn't you want a SNITCH around to tell you who did it? Or if someone slapped your momma upside her beautiful head, wouldn't you want a SNITCH there to point the culprit out? Or if someone took the last piece of bologna out of the fridge and you were as hungry as an ox, I bet you'd be looking for a SNITCH. And truthfully, in most of those scenarios, I bet a SNITCH is right there waiting to tell who did it!
But on a serious note, when did everybody start taking advice from rappers? Why would you let someone guide your actions that sing songs like "A Bay Bay" or "Wipe Me Down"? And believe me, I'm not knockin' hip hop because I love it, but I'm wise enough not to let a jingle influence how I live my life. Besides, I have yet to see 50Cent or Kanye West in my neighborhood handing out money from a cash truck thanking me for being such a good listener.
So when do you SNITCH? When something bad happens to you?
